Karena Wu is owner and Clinical Director of ActiveCare Physical Therapy. She is a native of Los Angeles, California and has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California at Riverside. She has been practicing Physical Therapy for 15 years in New York City after she graduated from the Program In Physical Therapy at Columbia University. She has advanced training in manual therapies, specifically in the Maitland Australian Approach and Myofascial Release. Karena is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Kinesiology Tape Practitioner and Pilates Instructor. She is also LSVT BIG, FMS and SFMA Level 1 Certified.

Karena is a dedicated practitioner who takes a holistic approach to her practice. She actively networks with a team of physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists. Her patient population consists of professional athletes, dancers, celebrity chefs, TV media stars, high end business professionals, and NYPD/FDNY.

Karena is used as a healthcare expert on CBS, NBC, NY1, PIX11, Verizon Fios, Fox News and Dr. Oz. She is the Director of Education for SpiderTech Kinesiology Tape and is on the Medical Board of the Association of Volleyball Professionals.

Joseph J. Castelli Jr, is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from St. John's University in New York. He then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from SUNY at Stony Brook in New York. In December 2011, received his Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado's School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado.

Joe has over 14 years of experience as a Physical Therapist. He works as a consultant and independent contractor. He has taken advanced manual therapy courses following Stanley Paris at the University of St. Augustine and Myofascial manual therapy from Hands On Seminars in New York. Joe is Certified as an Ergonomic Assessment Specialist as well as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association.

Monique Dupree is a New Jersey native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.

Monique believes in using a holistic approach when treating patients by integrating postural education and core exercise with selective strengthening. She utilizes carefully-selected exercises to not only target the area being treated but also to enhance overall movement and quality of life for her patients.

Prior to joining ActiveCare, Monique worked in a clinic that specialized in diagnoses of the low back and neck, integrating functional movement to prepare patients for safe discharge. Monique is licensed in New York and New Jersey and is a SpiderTech Certified Practitioner, with training in taping techniques that aid in pain relief, edema control and neuromuscular activation.

She is looking forward to taking courses to further develop her manual skills in the areas of sports taping and peripheral joint and spinal mobilizations.

In her free time, Monique enjoys spending time in the city, dining and taking in the arts.

Rebecca Young, born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA with a focus in manual therapy.

Rebecca's treatment philosophy involves a holistic approach, incorporating core and postural stabilization into all exercise programs. It is always important to have a strong foundation to build from. She is dedicated to providing quality individualized care to all of her patients and is passionate about helping them get back to what they love to do.

Prior to joining the team at ActiveCare Physical Therapy, Rebecca worked for ATI Physical Therapy in Seattle, WA which specialized in work related injuries. Her treatment approach focused on manual therapy, careful selection of therapeutic exercises, and preparation for a safe return to work.

Currently, Rebecca is focusing on continuing education to sharpen her manual therapy techniques with the goal of becoming a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist. She also is working towards becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. Outside of the clinic Rebecca enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, music, and exploring her new home of New York City.
